HOD Welcome Address

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Department of Psychology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.   The establishment of a Psychology Department in the Faculty of Social Sciences was approved by the Senate of the University of Ife in the 1976/1977academic year.  The Department has since then grown in all ramifications. Currently, the Department runs four (4) degree programmes: Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Psychology, Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Psychology, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Psychology and Master of Managerial Psychology (MMP) for both regular and executive students.  At graduate level, the Department admits students into different areas of specialisation in Psychology such as Clinical, Health, Industrial, Developmental, Social, and Environmental Psychology. Several of our graduates are well-placed and currently pursuing excellent careers both within and outside Nigeria. Our staff members are strongly committed to the attainment of core values in teaching, research, and community service.
